Well hello there, it’s been a while! I haven’t been blogging or updating the website lately because I had my baby girl! Baby Ohayo Bento was born on May 5th, 2016 at 2:42PM. She weighed 6lbs 14.9oz and measured 20.5″ long. And she’s absolutely perfect!
What an adventure her birth was! I managed to deliver naturally without any epidural or medical intervention, which I’m still really proud of. But I have to admit, there were a few times when I thought ‘uh-oh, I’m in serious trouble, I don’t think I can do this’. But once it’s started, you’re committed so it’s time to grin, bear it, and scream a little.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I try and post photos of my bullet journal, or BuJo, almost every day. I get tons of questions about each picture! How do I do this or that, what is such and such for, what pens do you use, etc.? I love answering all of these questions, and I try to do so on Instagram as much as I can. But, it’s a lot easier to add it and archive it here on the blog.
So without further ado…
#PlanWithMeChallenge 5.2: First Page. I so rarely look at or use this page, but it’s the first page in my #BuJo. It’s surprising for me to see how much my style has evolved in these few short months. What a fun adventure this has been!
#planwithmechallenge 5.3: Daily. My daily spreads aren’t very big or super detailed, they tend to just have the basics: my wellness tracker, the date, and tasks and appointments. I’m thinking about setting up a weekly system since I tend to allow tasks to be open until I have to switch pages and migrate them. But, so far, I haven’t found one that I really like, so the dailies are here to stay for now! #bujo
#planwithmechallenge 5.12: Fresh Start. What a perfectly appropriate challenge prompt for me to finally get back to my bullet journal. Baby Ohayobento is 1 week old today! And we are starting to figure out our routine together. Both of us are getting a fresh start! I was super surprised to step on the scale a couple of days ago and see that I am surpassing my pre-pregnancy weight!!!! I started this journey overweight so it is a welcome sight to step on the scale and see the smallest numbers in over a year! Here’s to fresh starts in life, family, and health!
I’m trying hard to get back into the planning groove but it’s tough. A good number of these tasks have been done either by my mom or my husband, but at least they are getting done. Im not going to migrate anything until I have to switch pages.
#planwithmechallenge 5.16: overwhelm. Taking care of a newborn means not getting chores and tasks done, lol! I find that if I don’t write a task down as soon as I think of it, I forget. So I find that the tasks get piled up in my dailies and constantly migrated which feels really overwhelming when I look at all of the things to do (of course there’s all the regular daily stuff too). I tried using my brain dump page more, but it didn’t help because I didn’t look at it. To help with the overwhelming feeling I’m going to start flagging my daily top 3, and anything beyond that is a bonus.
