Week in Bujo: July 1-12

It’s been far too long since I’ve done a Week in BuJo post!  I just haven’t had the time.  When I do get free time I spend it working on my BuJo rather than talking about working on my BuJo, lol!  But, it’s been long enough and it’s time to get back to business.

I don’t want to bog you down with a ton of photos, so if you would like to see the photos that I skipped, hop on over to my Instagram feed.  I hope you enjoy!


#planwithmechallenge 7.11: planning ahead. I’m trying out a redesigned future log. I thought about doing a calendex (see @boho.berry for gorgeous pictures and descriptions of the calendex) but it was too much flipping around the book for me. I settled on this super simple list style spread. It makes it easier to see the whole month at a glance rather than my first spread which just had space for writing down dates, times, etc with no timeline structure. I haven’t finished filling it in, but so far, I love it!! Do you guys use a future log? What do you find most useful about it?


#planwithmechallenge 7.3: today. Today has been a great day. I didn’t cross off a lot of tasks, but I’ve spent a ton of wonderful quality time with Baby Ohayobento. I would rather spend my time with her than cross off a hundred tasks. I wish that every day could be the same! She is growing up and changing so fast, I don’t want to miss a thing!!!


#planwithmechallenge 7.4: Relaxing. Finding time to relax is difficult with a newborn. There aren’t any long stretches of time to take a bubble bath, go to a cafe, etc. But I’ve found a lot of peace and relaxation in doing the #zenartchallenge It usually takes me 2-3 days to finish a prompt, so I don’t do them all, but it is a wonderful way to take 3-5 minutes, clear my mind, relax, and doodle. And it pulls double duty by also being a good creative outlet. A big thank you to @mindfulcreativity for hosting this challenge!!!!


#planwithmechallenge 7.5: experimenting. I’m experimenting with a new addition to my wellness tracking this month. Inspired/stolen 😁 from @honeyrozes is the page on the right. I’ve always tracked my happiness, calmness (lack of stress), fulfillment, physical health, and energy and tried to correlate dips in my overall wellness with events and shifts in my lifestyle. But, it hasn’t really been quantitative and I didn’t have specific actions for improvement. That’s exactly what this spread is supposed to help with. I set a goal and actions to take for improvement for each aspect. Then at the end of the month I can see how I did, how many actions I took, and reflect on the progress for the next month. Tracking is great but being intentional and actionable is what really drives improvement.


Dreaming of the weekend when I made some good progress reading Legend by Marie Lu. I can’t wait to finish it and start on the next one. I still love my reading tracker as well but I’m almost done with this notebook and I’m not sure what the best way to transfer some of these long-term collections… Any suggestions?


#planwithmechallenge 7.8: My last planner. Before my current setup, which is my #bujo and Midori traveler’s notebook, my last planner was actually a system of 4 planners! I used 2 Hobonichi Techo planners (one for work and one for personal), a Sugar Paper calendar for finances, and of course my Midori traveler’s notebook for journal and creative planning. It was a lot. Too much really. I love the Hobinichi but it just wasn’t working well for me (the paper is my absolute favorite, the setup is amazing, but it just wasn’t right). I find that I still miss it though 😫 Bullet journaling has been light years more effective for me both in getting things accomplished but I find the planning process a lot more enjoyable!


All inked up, organized, and ready to go to my first planner meet-up at @whimsodoodle I’m so excited! I’ve never done a planner meet before 😁 Any day that contains a new adventure is sure to be a good one!


Just another simple daily spread. I’m having a lot of fun with the #zenartchallenge and I’m thinking of making a dedicated page for it rather than keep it in my dailies.


#planwithmechallenge 7.12: break. I’m taking a break from doing any large #BuJo spreads or collections and focusing on the basics so that I can try my hand at a new adventure… Art journaling! I’ve only just started by I’m really excited and inspired to get creative!! Do you guys art journal? Any suggestions for who to follow for inspiration?
